The Globe watch foundation (GWF) on the 29th of August 2023, organized a capacity building workshop on the theme “Digital Rights and Digital security: Best practices for civil societies”.

The training was aimed at educating civil society actors on how to exercise their digital Rights within the Rule of Law, while strengthening the digital security capacities of civil societies and right defenders.

1) The training capacitated civil society actors with techniques and tools to reinforce their digital security and information safety.

2) The training upskilled CSOs knowledge on how to exercise their digital Rights within the Rule of law.

3) The forum also provided a platform for CSO members to share their unique experiences, best practices and ideas.A digital security professional ( Mr. Timchia Elvis) lead the training session, giving insights of the tools and techniques civil societies can use to circumvent all forms of digital threats, mitigate digital insecurity and safeguard their information and data bases.

Advocacy within the Rule of Law, Evidence based advocacy

The Globe watch foundation (GWF) today Saturday august 26th 2023 organized a capacity building workshop in Yaoundé under the theme ” Advocacy within the Rule of Law” ( Evidence based advocacy) . The programme Supported by the world Alliance for Citizen participation ( CIVICUS) and Funded by the Lifeline embattled CSO Fund was aimed at strengthening Freedoms of Association, Expression and Assembly (FOAEA) of CSOs and rights defenders within the Rule of Law. The workshop mobilized grassroot organizations and social movements for a training on how to do digital and physical advocacy on freedom of Association, Expression and Assembly within the Rule of law. participants were engaged on the current constitutional and legal framework on freedom of Association, Expression and Assembly (FOAEA) in Cameroon. The workshop also upskilled participants on how to do physical and digital advocacy within the framework of the Law while building human rights defenders’ advocacy skills and expertise.

The legal practitioner ( Mr Teboh Derrick also dwelled on Human Rights monitoring, documentation and Reporting within the framework of the law. He also cautioned participants to avoid all forms of Disinformation and misinformation while using evidence base Advocacy as a legal means to successful advocacy.

The forum also provided a platform for CSO members to share their unique experiences, best practices and ideas that are geared towards strengthening Advocacy Within the Rule of law . participants were cautioned on strengthening Freedom of Association, Expression and Assembly (FOAEA) within the framework of the law.

The training was facilitated by a legal expert with a sound academic, legal and civil society background (Mr Teboh Derrick).

The CEO of the Globe watch foundation, Mr.Lukong Usheno Kiven also emphasized on Evidence based advocacy while urging civil societies, activists, advocates and defenders of civil and human rights to use the current constitutional and legal dispensation to accelerate Freedoms of Association, Expression and assembly.He also emphasized on importance of solidarity, partnership, Networking and continous capacity building efforts for sustainable Human and civil Rights protection.
